The U.S. federal government, the Open Source Security Foundation, and the Department of Homeland Security developed the platform. The aim is to facilitate the adoption of software bills of materials (SBOMs) across federal and private sectors. The tool, named Protobom, enhances the efficiency and interoperability of SBOMs by allowing their translation into various formats.
