INTERPOL’s latest report warns of a significant rise in global cybercrime, fueled by advances in AI, cryptocurrencies, and fraud-as-a-service models like phishing and ransomware. It points out the use of AI in creating sophisticated fraud schemes, such as malicious chatbots. They also warn about the growth of human trafficking networks in call center scams. These include including ‘pig-butchering’ schemes combining romance and investment fraud.
