Apple Developed the PQ3 Post-Quantum Cryptographic Protocol

Apple unveiled PQ3, a new post-quantum cryptographic protocol, for iMessage. The protocol at Level 3 security, safeguards against quantum attacks. It enables initial key establishment even when the receiver is offline. PQ3 combines Elliptic Curve with post-quantum encryption and introduces periodic post-quantum rekeying for enhanced security. While PQ3 fortifies iMessage, Apple will monitor quantum threats to assess future authentication needs.
