Black Cat Claims Trans-Northern Pipelines Cyberattack

Trans-Northern Pipelines (TNPI) confirmed a breach in November 2023. ALPHV/BlackCat group claims responsibility. Both pipeline systems are underground and transport gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, and heating fuel. In December, the FBI reported ALPHV compromised over 1,000 entities, demanding $500 million and receiving $300 million. The FBI disrupted ALPHV’s operation, temporarily shutting down their Tor negotiation and data leak websites.
