Dutch data protection authority fined Uber €10 million for the violation of data processing and transparency rules under the GDPR. The penalty resulted from complaints filed by 172 French Uber drivers and a Paris-based civil society organisation. The Dutch regulator found Uber’s data access and retention practices lacked transparency and hindered privacy rights.
