Hackers Successfully Breach Tesla at the Pwn2Own Event

During Pwn2Own Automotive 2024, organized by Trend Micro’s Zero Day Initiative, competitors earned $1,323,750. They hacked Tesla twice and discovering 49 zero-day bugs in EV systems. Synacktiv Team won, earning $450,000 for hacking Tesla and demonstrating a sandbox escape in the infotainment system. Notable exploits included vulnerabilities in Tesla’s modem, Sony’s infotainment systems, and Alpine’s car audio players.
