LockBit Claims Ransomware on India’s National Aerospace Lab

What Happened

LockBit, a ransomware gang, claimed attacking India’s National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), causing security concerns for critical national assets.

As a ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) group, LockBit used its dark web leak site to threaten NAL, demanding an unspecified ransom. They pledged to publish stolen data if the ransom went unpaid. The attack coincided with a global outage of NAL’s website, though it’s uncertain if this resulted directly from the ransomware attack.

As of now, NAL and India’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) have not responded to requests for comments.
